My Walk in Sullivan Canyon August 29, 2009
I hope the following photographs showing people having fun in Sullivan Canyon in the Brentwood Hills section of Los Angeles will help prevent the Southern California Gas Company from destroying the canyon with their plans to cut down trees and widen the path starting September 1, 2009. Here I am on the trail. The rest of the photographs speak for themselves. There is an emergency meeting Monday, August 31 at 7:00pm in the Second Floor Hearing Room (Room 200) at the West Los Angeles Municipal Building, 1645 Corinth Ave., to discuss this. Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl’s office is a great place to contact. His number is 310-575-8461. Click on “Help to Save It” above and learn more about how you can preserve Sullivan Canyon.

We lost this tree September 1, 2009

Sharon O’Rourke, Public Affairs Manager for the Southern California Gas Company, sent me this email: “Dear Mathew: We did re-evaluate the tree you expressed concern about and because it really leans into the road, it was necessary to remove it, in order for our vehicles to safely travel the maintenance road. Sincerely, Sharon O’Rourke”
